The other day the Board of ICANN decided to approve a request for delegation of Ukraine Cyrillic root domain .УКР.

The board of directors of ICANN made a decision to approve a request for delegation Ukraine of cyrillic root domain of .ÓÊÐ. About it the web site of AIN was reported by George Goncharuk, director of the Ukrainian network informative center.

It a decision yet must be it is approved the department of commerce the USA, but it quick formal procedure, counts Goncharuk. That a domain area began to work, it is needed it will be to pass a few stages of standardization, technical procedures, but, in opinion of Goncharuka, already by the summer of this year the Ukrainian users will be able to register the domains in this area. The administrator of domain of .ÓÊÐ will be USIC.

In opinion of president Imena.UA Alexandra Ol'shanskogo, passed protracted, but far the not final stage of delegation Ukraine of cyrillic domain of top level. On his estimations, a few months will go on final procedures, at the best the first domains will appear in an area in summer, in worse  to the end of year.
